Motorvac Fuel system Cleaning System

The Motorvac Fuel Injection Cleaning System uses a special cleaning solution under pressure to clean the fuel injectors, pressure regulator, fuel rails, throttle body, intake runners, intake valves and the tips of the pistons. Disconnecting the fuel lines near the engine isolates the fuel pump from the process to protect it, the pump runs during this cleaning but fuel is looped back to the tank.  The manufacturer recommends an annual cleaning, but we consider every 2 years being sufficient for most engines.  Some rather severe running complaints, from poor idle, hesitation on acceleration, even check engine lights from engine misfire codes are cured by this cleaning process.  Considering that on average a fuel injector costs about $150 for the part alone, adding labor and the real possibility that more than one will need replacing to cure the complaint, it doesn’t take a math major to figure out that cleaning is well worth the cost.  Since we started using this piece of equipment about 10 years ago, we have not replaced a single fuel injector, with the exception of either electrical or mechanically failed injectors, both uncommon.
