I'm in Colorado. And cannot adequately tell you how appreciative I am for the inspection that Eric at Ervine's did of a classic car at a nearby dealership. The price he charged for the complete scrutiny of the vehicle was higher than most other shops, much higher in fact. But the man drove over to the dealer to see it and drive it back to the dealership to start with. This is something that is highly unusual and very helpful when you are shopping long distance. And so far as that process, when he found a number of things seriously wrong or of concern, Eric stopped, tried to figure it out, and ultimately came to the conclusion that this vehicle definitely NOT one he would buy. He did not take it back to his shop, but back to the dealer and told them flatly that it was unacceptable. And so far as that rather large charge for doing the inspection, he expected nothing for about 45 minutes worth of time he spent out of his day. So, I must agree with Stephanie K.'s review, and find Pat Y.'s review (from California) to be suspect. No business will perfectly satisfy every customer. No business will avoid errors, mistakes, etc. But in terms of trustworthiness, and doing what is right, I give Ervines my highest recommendation.

I have not always had good experiences with car places but Ervines was awesome. Very friendly, efficient, and the free loaner car was extremely helpful. They were very organized and communicated very well pre and post appointment. There is absolutely no doubt I will be back.

I would say that they are the most courteous and knowledgeable service station I have ever been to. Also the pricing seems to be right in line with that of others in the Grand Rapids area.

Ervine's is always friendly and knowledgeable. I really appreciate that they give me a head's up on potential issues BEFORE they become emergencies so that I can make decisions on what my car needs rather than being forced to fix something major that wasn't caught soon enough.

I have a 99 VW Passat, Ervine's is the best place around to work on foreign vehicles. I trust them and they keep my vehicle running! I wouldn't dare go to anyone else

I knew that my transmission probably had to be replaced from another auto repair service, who spent 2 minutes on the phone and told me "yea its bad, just sell it for what you can" It seemed like he didn't want to go into detail about the problem and left me feeling pretty hopeless. (like most mechanics I've worked with) I then took my car to Ervines to get a 2nd opinion When I talked to the Ervines, the mechanic went into great detail on why he thought I should sell it rather then have them put a new one in or work on it. He spent about 15-20 minutes talking with me. Even though I was told my car was shot..I got off the phone feeling good and that I knew what I had to do. He also had great morals as he said I could sell it to another person who probably wouldn't notice the problem, but trade it in at a dealership so I wouldn't feel bad, like he would. Thanks Ervines!
