Im not accustomed to trusting anybody in the automotive repair business, but when I went in there and spoke with Steve, he made me feel like he really wanted to help me fix the problem I was curious about. I cant say that I wont still be leery of the automotive repair industry, but Steve at Ervines gave me logical and true information, made me feel pretty comfortable and heard.

While unfortunately my equinox was not repairable. Steve was very open and honest throughout the whole process and advised us on what was and wasnt worth investing in the car. When deciding to not repair the car, Steve was in agreement and helped us narrow down what kind of car would be worth investing in. As a young woman this is the only local shop that has made me feel comfortable we look forward to working with them again when the time comes for our jeep and new Chevy.

As a visibly queer and gender nonconforming human, I’ve had my share of interesting experiences with mechanics. Not here, they treated me with the same level of respect and welcoming as everyone else. And that’s saying something, because the whole staff were so genuinely kind! Megan and Janine, especially, went out of their way with next level customer service. Taking extra time and consideration for my unique van living needs - without me even asking. Even more, this is by far the cleanest, best kept shop I’ve ever walked into. They left my vehicle equally clean, which is just a nice touch. Is this a budget auto shop? No, it’s well worth it. There’s also zero sales pressure. They clearly, visually, laid out my options, answered my questions without being patronizing and didn’t push one way or the other. I could go on, but I’ll just say one more thing, they KNOW hybrids. The owner once talked me through my options before I even bought a hybrid, explaining the longevity and considerations even though it didn’t benefit him in any way to do so. I wasn’t even a customer! They are pricey, but these guys know their stuff and have the most optimized, easy customer interface I have ever had with an auto mechanic. I've taken two of my vehicles to them, and in each case they've identified the sources of problems which I have been experiencing with my vehicle, but which no one else has identified so far, and they provide a detailed list of the problems with reference pictures and priority on which issues are more urgent/important as opposed to which ones can stand to wait a while to be addressed. And they explain it in such detail that I often don't even have questions, but they always answer the questions in a satisfying manner. As someone who is not particularly adept at auto mechanics, this is a huge boon.

I've been a loyal customer since the late 80s. If you're looking for honest, trustworthy mechanics, you can't do any better than these folks. I actually felt guilty when I recently had to have work done on my van up in Cadillac because I could not bring it to my regular people.

I was in Grand Rapids from Pittsburgh on vacation with 3 of my kids. On the day of our arrival my Terrain started being weird. I called into Ervine (the closest place to our hotel) first thing in the morning with my situation and Steve said they had a full garage, but he would check it out. I got there (thankfully) and my car ended up be undrivable with major damage. Insert panic. Steve got my car in immediately ON A FRIDAY and had it ready to be driven back home for my kids and I by Tuesday when we were scheduled to return home. Megan was also amazing and gave my kids and I a ride to the car rental place. She waited to ensure had a car before leaving and had suggestions for things to do on vacation. They were caring and amazing and made it possible for my family and I to enjoy the rest of our vacation and return home safely. I am grateful to the entire team for their kindness.
